About The Course

The course consists of eight, 1.5-2-hour sessions in which you will learn the essential principles and practices of mindfulness. It consists of teacher led guided meditations, group dialogue and individually tailored instructions and home assignments, that will provide you with the techniques that will build your personal home practice that will enable you to experience the wide-ranging benefits of mindfulness well beyond the course.

The key learning points include:

  • Understanding and practicing a variety of formal and informal mindfulness meditation practices.
  • Understanding how stress works and how to self-regulate our moods, so that we are better able to pause in challenging situations and manage our responses more effectively.
  • Recognising the unhelpful patterns of the mind, such as worrying, self-criticism and judgment, that often generate more stress; and learning to release ourselves from their power.
  • Learning to have more mindful, and thus meaningful, communication, connections and relationships.
  • Developing practical self-care tools to help us thrive, perform at or best, and build resilience.

To learn new ways of dealing with what arises in our minds and our bodies. The aim of which is to promote new behaviours which facilitate the management of discomfort and the various difficulties which occur within our life experiences; therefore improving our emotional and physical wellbeing.

About your teacher

Jess Bigogno qualified as a psychologist in her home city of London in 1996. She then went on to work in London in the stressful world of marketing and business for several years before returning to psychology and retraining as a psychotherapist. Having practiced Mindfulness herself for some time, she realised how powerful the therapeutic benefits were and began incorporating it into her therapy with fantastic results. Seeing how life changing it could be for so many people, she decided to further her training as a mindfulness teacher, and launched group courses for private individuals and businesses centred around the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) programmes. She now lives in Barcelona where she continues to meditate every day and runs a psychotherapy practice and Mindfulness teaching centre. Jess is also a qualified NLP practitioner.
